Diamonds, Dunes and Daisies
The first night of this tour to Namaqualand and the Wild Flowers is spent in Kuruman with a visit to the Robert Moffat Mission Museum. We continue to Augrabies with time to enjoy the spectacular waterfall, then on to Springbok in the northern part of Namaqualand, where we spend 2 nights. The days are spent looking for the best flowers according to local knowledge.
Visit the Namaqua National Park, and Kamieskroon before heading South to Clanwilliam for two nights. From there we drive to the charming village of Wupperthal before making our way to Calvinia for two nights. Our flower spotting drive will include Nieuwoudtville, renowned for its bulbs. The return journey includes overnight stops at Carnarvon and Kimberley before arriving home.

Day 1
23 AugustDrive from Pretoria to Kuruman. Visit “The Eye” before driving to the

4 AugustVisit the Robert Moffat Mission Museum. Drive via Upington, Keimoes and Kakamas with their fascinating water wheels, to Augrabies National Park. At leisure to view the falls. Lunch & dinner own account. Overnight BB

25 AugustAfter breakfast drive to Pofadder then to Pella for a visit to the Mission Station. Continue to Springbok. Lunch & dinner own account. Overnight BB Springbok

26 AugustThe day is spent visiting the best flower sites in the area. Lunch & dinner own account. Overnight BB Springbok
Day 5
27 AugustDrive to the Namaqua National Park and walk amongst the flowers. Then drive through Soebatsfontein to Kamieskroon. Overnight BB Kamieskroon
Day 6
28 AugustWe make our way to Clanwilliam via the best flower sites. Lunch & dinner own account. Overnight BB Clanwilliam
Day 7
29 AugustVisit the Wild Flower Show, stroll through Ramskop Nature Reserve and enjoy tasting a variety of rooibos teas. If time permits, drive to Lambert’s Bay and optional visit to Bird Island. Overnight BB Clanwilliam
Day 8
30 AugustDrive over the Pakhuis Pass with a stop to visit the grave of Louis Leipoldt, then on through the Biedouw Valley to Wupperthal. Time to explore this charming village before setting off for Calvinia. Lunch & dinner own account. Overnight BB Calvinia

Day 11
2 SeptemberPossible visit to Meerkat Square Kilometre Array construction area. Drive to Kimberley. Lunch & dinner own account. Overnight BB Kimberley

3 SeptemberSightseeing in Kimberly including the Duggin-Cronin Museum, Belgravia with its beautiful houses, the Big Hole Museum, The Crompton Patterson Bi- plane. Lunch & dinner own account. Overnight BB Kimberley
